About Farsite Communications

Overview

FarSite Communications was established in 1998 and is based in Basingstoke, UK. They design, develop and manufacture high quality, high performance WAN communications products for PCs used in a business environment and stand-alone satellite access routers. Many of the products comprise a communications card and software. To complement the products they also undertake product customisation, consultancy, and software and hardware development for clients.

Products

Many of the products are based on the support of E1, X.21, V.35, X.25, IP and similar. Communications protocols are available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Linux plus some older legacy O/S's. A range of TCP to X.25 Gateways are available plus a satellite access router. The range of products is being continually expanded, with support for new operating systems and additional communications cards available this year. The products are in use world-wide, with the majority of products exported round the world.

Consultancy and Development Services

FarSite undertake software and hardware development as well as consultancy for our clients. This is usually in the area of systems and communications development where their expertise can be brought to bear. Such developments have recently included: data communications gateways for mobile phones, voice and fax over USB, SNMP proxy agents, specialist PCMCIA drivers, network statistics monitoring, DSP design and customisation of our own range of products for specific requirements.
